With over 35 years of fishing experience across Pennsylvania, Captain Chuck Gisselbrecht has built his life around understanding the state’s diverse freshwater systems. What started as a hobby quickly evolved into a lifelong passion, particularly for crappie fishing. Through decades on the water, he developed a deep respect for the sport and a detailed understanding of local fish behavior, seasonal patterns, and the subtle changes that can make all the difference in a successful day of fishing.
Captain Chuck’s competitive spirit led him to participate in numerous crappie tournaments throughout the years, where he honed his techniques and gained recognition from fellow anglers. His dedication and consistent results didn’t go unnoticed—friends and fishing partners began urging him to share his skills with others. That encouragement eventually inspired him to start his own guiding service, allowing him to turn his passion into a career helping others enjoy Pennsylvania’s rich freshwater fishing opportunities.
As the owner and operator of Brecht Fishing, Captain Chuck has become one of the most respected guides in the region. His calm, patient approach puts guests at ease, while his in-depth local knowledge ensures every trip is both enjoyable and educational. Whether chasing walleye, perch, bass, or crappie, Captain Chuck tailors each outing to the angler’s goals and skill level. His philosophy is simple—every guest should leave the water with new skills, great memories, and a deeper appreciation for Pennsylvania’s lakes and fisheries.
